This is my first time with vari-focal lenses so I was a bit anxious about having them but their advice was superb and these glasses are brilliant. I’ll never look back!! This was my first time using a private opticians. I was really impressed from the eye test to finding the right glasses and picking the lenses. All the staff were fabulous, patient and listened to what I wanted. I even ended up with new sunglasses that were in the sale. Fabulous experience from start to finish 👌 I'd never use a different opticians now 😀

Both Alex and Sarah have been wonderful both during my appointments and with follow ups. They have been receptive and considerate at all times. The eye tests have always been thorough and the results explained to me thoroughly. I've often been pretty nervous during my appointments and they have both been supportive and patient with me. More than willing to reassure me, help me understand and answer my (many) questions. The rest of the staff have always been friendly and keen to help, which has been especially useful when choosing frames on your own. They have been accommodating and have gone out of their way to help me pick up and fit my new glasses, including a follow up call to check how they are working for me.

Not very impressed on 2nd visit. Male optician wasn't very friendly and was rude with my 5 year ago. Put eye patch on her head and hardly spoke to her or interacted. Looked like he didn't like kids. Will be feeding this back to Woodseats school!!!!

Visited Alex Gage Optometrist during lockdown and took the opportunity to book a first ever opticians appointment for my 6 year old. Alex kindly looked after both of us and comprehensively tested our eyes whilst fielding an immense amount of questions from my curious daughter. Service was brilliant, learnt more about my eye health in one appointment than from any high street store. Bearing in mind the restrictions, everything is carefully considered and super clean. The quality of my contact lenses are first class and will be heading back to purchase some glasses soon. If you're wondering whether to book in or thinking of switching to a top local optometrist, this is the one.
