Certain members of staff I encountered at Goldthorpe were arrogant and confrontational with a total disregard for human health and wellbeing! The lorry driver was expected to tip a full load with no assistance using a single pallet truck (no doubles available, most trucks faulty anyway) and the pallets were to be placed at the top end of the warehouse nowhere near the bay he was parked at. Driver in question is an asthmatic and was getting short of breath after tipping nearly half of the load. He needed a break as was at risk of having a full on asthma attack. He was told by a man who appeared to be overseeing proceedings in the warehouse that he either finish tipping the rest of the trailer now by himself or take it away! Completely unreasonable and unsafe. No assistance was offered or a chance to sit down and catch his breath. This man showed no compassion or acknowledgement of the fact he was struggling to breathe, the stress and effort of arguing with him made the situation far worse. We asked twice to see a first aider but the request was ignored. The driver was unable to continue and in no fit state at that point to drive away safely. The way he was treated was totally unacceptable and surely a health and safety violation.
