FAQ

What is your experience and training in craniosacral therapy?

We have undergone extensive training in craniosacral therapy and have many years of experience in providing this type of manual therapy. We are dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest techniques and research in this field to provide the best possible care to our clients.

How does craniosacral therapy differ from other types of manual therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands-on approach that focuses on the craniosacral system, which includes the bones, tissues, and fluids surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Unlike other manual therapies that may use more forceful techniques, craniosacral therapy is non-invasive and aims to support the body's natural healing processes.

Can craniosacral therapy be helpful for my specific condition or symptoms?

Craniosacral therapy may be helpful for a variety of conditions and symptoms, including headaches, migraines, back pain, anxiety, and more. However, we always recommend consulting with a healthcare professional to determine if craniosacral therapy is the right approach for your individual needs.

How many sessions will I need and what can I expect during a typical session?

The number of sessions needed can vary depending on the individual and their specific needs. During a typical session, you can expect to lie down fully clothed while the therapist uses a light touch to evaluate and support your craniosacral system. The session may last around 60 minutes.

What is your approach to integrating craniosacral therapy with other treatments or therapies I may be receiving?

We always aim to provide holistic care to our clients, and we are open to collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes. We believe that craniosacral therapy can complement and enhance other treatments and therapies, and we strive to provide integrated care that addresses the whole person.

(Translated by Google) I've been doing yoga, stretching and exercises to work out my old shoulder and hip injuries. Nothing made much difference and I continued to experience pain in my knees as well. Rolfing helped me resolve my old injuries and fixed my posture too! I had hunched and slumped shoulders that have now straightened out thanks to Alan's therapeutic Rolfing treatment. If you have structural problems that are difficult to solve, it's worth doing the full rolfing sessions to try to solve it! (Original) Tenho feito yoga, alongamento e exercícios para resolver minhas antigas lesões nos ombros e no quadril. Nada fez muita diferença e continuei sentindo dores nos joelhos também. Rolfing me ajudou a resolver meus antigos ferimentos e corrigiu minha postura também!

I suffered with lower back problems for a couple of years and it was starting to affect my work which can be quite physical at times. I found Alan on the Internet and had a look at his youtube videos which I liked. I made a booking and was pleasantly surprised by the progress made right from the very first consultation so I committed to doing the ten series which proved to be extremely beneficial. After not too long I was able to work without even thinking of my back. I would highly recommend Alan to anybody who is suffering from back issues.

Alan is an experienced Rolfer, and a truly kind person - a tonic for both body and soul. I was amazed at how much my posture was improved and able to be rebalanced through the Series with Alan. The change was amazing, I was standing upright and looking ahead for the first time (instead of down at the floor!), and I also felt more confident. As well as in my day to day, it was in Pilates I noticed the big improvement - my Pilates teacher had made the recommendation. Suddenly I had more flexibility, and the right muscles were now free to be worked more accurately so as to support the improvements made with Alan. I still visit Alan regularly for a top up, and I continue to be wowed by how work on one part of the body can make such a difference to a completely different part, and in turn help to reset my posture.

Alan is a hugely experienced rolfer. I saw him for the rolfing series a few years ago and that made a great difference to my posture and various aches and pains. Since then I have been seeing him intermittently and it is always so helpful. I highly recommend him.

Our son has quite severe scoliosis and was in a lot of pain - Alan has made a visible improvement to his scoliosis and reduced his pain levels considerably. We rate Alan extremely highly. We would thus recommend Alan for the conservative treatment of scoliosis.

What is a therapeutic personality? * a willingness to connect and engage * long professional experience * warmth * understanding * curiosity * an open heart * - that's Alan Richardson for you. * Thanks for the cheque Alan. * That was a joke. * Seriously the moment he greets you and assesses your posture, a session with Alan is like a physical and emotional spa. However good I feel at the start I feel better afterwards. * Don't take my word for it - make an appointment with this fine, safe, practitioner with a sense of humour.

Alan is amazing! I've been seeing him for a few years now. I initially went because someone who had done his research said he was one of the UK's best rolfers and he had fixed what had been very persistent back pain. At the time, I was having foot and lower back issues that weren't improving anymore via physios. And since doing rolfing with Alan, I've never looked back! My pains have disappeared and having the one-off top-ups helps keeps things at bay. Alan always creates a fantastically inspiring environment, safe, life-affirming, funny, kind and creative - and all the time whilst also ironing out any stiffness and various body niggles. I cannot recommend Alan highly enough.

The pain in my back has been relieved by these sessions, and it has been really interesting to learn about this technique. I am so much more aware of my posture and breath and can correct when I see old habits start coming back. Alan is very knowledgable and skilled. Really happy.

I have been seeing Alan for over 2 years now. The initial 11 step programme was amazing and went a long way to rectifying years of asymmetric sporting activity, particularly in my lower back. Further sessions have substantially improved my posture and alignment and capacity to continue playing regular sports. Alan has a fantastic ability to look at how I stand and diagnose where my body requires treatment, and I always leave his sessions feeling more balanced and aligned. I would thoroughly recommend Alan to anyone looking for rolfing treatment.
