Purchased a property through Alan de Maid. On the day of completion, I told Ravina the time my family and I would be at the property. We waited with our 6 month old baby for half an hour. Then to be told via email “I have left your keys with my collegue in branch as I am out on appointment”. The colleague would not come out as it was not “protocol” and she said that there was no one else available. Thankfully, a neighbour dropped me to Alan de Maid to get the key. Not only were there plenty of staff. But Ravina was there and was now telling me that they did not have the key. Worse still, she accused my surveyor of having it. Once that was disproved. She then blamed the seller and said if I needed a locksmith I can then make a claim against them via my solicitor. Not a great start, suing someone who would also become your neighbour. Ravina then went looking in the back office and returned with the key, without apology. Now, all of a sudden she wanted to come to the property, against their own “protocol”. All this time and embarrassment could have been avoided with better communication.
