MARIA SMILES
We placed an order at 9.30 pm on Sunday, 7th May, with the South Kensington restaurant. When the delivery arrived, there were items missing and we called the restaurant to ask for them. They said that they knew nothing of our order and that it must have come from their Knightsbridge branch and then the chap I was speaking to , unceremoniously, hung up the phone on me. We then called the Knightsbridge branch, who told us that they do not do übereats, and advised we should contact the South Kensington branch. When we called South Kensington again and told them the Knightsbridge branch don’t do übereats, the same chap I spoke to originally, miraculously now remembered that we had placed an order with them , but assured me that everything was handed to the ubereats driver. According to the man we spoke to, the drivers constantly forget to hand the orders correctly to the customers (!!!!) and therefore we should complain to übereats. When I challenged this, he simply hung up the phone on me. Again. I am categorically sure that the owner of Al Arez is not aware of his staff’s conduct and of how this particular member of staff deals with customers, but as the result of this we will not place any orders with them. Ever. Again. We prefer our food not to be served with sides of fork-tongued evasion and derision. And for “ explanations” which beggar belief and for which I bitterly resent paying the price of the phone call for.
