We’ve known Meg since she used to work in a coffee shop in York and she always brings a friendly welcome! Her food is delicious and we pop in for cake and coffee whenever we’re free. The menu changes weekly and there’s always a mixture of flavours to entice you in. It’s fresh and appetising, and it keeps tempting you back for more! Parking: Outside the restaurant

Amazing place to eat! We've been to AKL for lunch, attended a supper club, and this week tried the new Chef Table that Meg's offering (where she builds a custom menu for a group of 4 for an intimidate dinner). Her food never fails to be delicious, and she couldn't be friendlier. I couldn't recommend it more - it's easily worth the drive from York centre!

It was a bit of a grey non-day but thankfully I was transported to the Middle East for a taste explosion at lunchtime. Fantastic Middle Eastern food at AKL, 1b Church Street, Copmanthorpe (it’s just behind the convenience store). Open Thursday to Saturday 9am to 2pm. All made by the lovely Meg who used to work at the Pig and Pastry. Go and shake up your tastebuds.

Really cosy hidden away restaurant with the best middle eastern food and delicious cakes! Everything is so fresh and tasty, lots of different options and dishes I've never tried before but can't wait to eat again. 100% worth the drive from the centre of York
