    After reading other negative reviews I was wary and so sought reassurance about the vehicle I was interested in. Initially very pleasant experience as had photographic reassurance over corrosion concerns (old vehicle from Scotland!) and put a deposit on it. Then discovered cambelt was overdue for replacement on age as per manufacturers requirements (also required for a valid warranty after speaking to Auto Protect who required me to give them all the details and confirmed their warranty would be void if belt and full service not carried out). Adam said he would not get it done and even refused my offer of paying his garage to do it so had it booked in at my end on the basis that he was responsible if belt snapped. He did agree but then refused to put in writing that he would cover any damage during delivery as weather was very poor and a long trip being driven and not trailored) . Shiply always cover such damage but he wanted his own driver to deliver it. He also stated on phone that a pre inspection would be carried out before delivery but refused to put in writing that all was fine with the vehicle for my peace of mind. He likes to talk the talk and boasts of 32 years of trading but will not walk the walk as he refunded my deposit without speaking to me and then re-advertised and rudely ignored my follow up emails as I actually wanted the vehicle. I had cleaned out my vehicle and sorned it ready as was p/ex against his vehicle but it has all been an immense waste of my time when simple reassurance of checks in writing were all that were required and other dealers are happy to do having purchased vehicles from other dealers many, many times with written assurances for peace of mind. I am thankful I had not paid in full as any issues would just be nothing but hassle with him. Its fine to be told all will be checked before delivery but confirmation of those checks in writing is the only proof that checks have actually been carried out. You have been warned. Clearly not willing to put his spoken assurances into writing and my insistence on it caused him to cancel the deal so have to assume there WERE issues as why else would you not be willing to put it in writing? It was a distance sale so was entitled to deposit back under 14 day rule but I actually WANTED the vehicle and was prepared to pay for cambelt and proper service.

    Found out cam belt was not set up right (timing) after I bought a car with the dash light flickering on every now and then. Also rear brake discs corroding but was assured they where fine but had to be replaced after a proper garage inspection 2 weeks after purchase. When i spoke too the dealer I was assured this would be covered on guarantee, guess what...it wasn't. Overall condition of the car was very good though paint, body and interior but a shame I had to go through more finances to fix these issues.
