Buyer beware Listed as 1 previous owner and under 20,000 miles on Autotrader, with "service history". On Trade Cars site: 2 owners; actual mileage 20703; indeed a service history, just not a full service history - miselading. MOTed before delivery, but back nearside tyre arrived with bulging perished sidewall, slowly leaking air. Agreed a delivery time, presented with a fait accompli of a new delivery time, goalposts and arrival time kept changing - lack of open, honest communication. Car arrived with only one key - no mention of this anywhere. Agreed to send car handbook months ago - I've chased multiple times, but of course this hasn't arrived either. Car clearly been in the wars, don't know those details, but at least after 5k miles hasn't had any mechanical issues.

Dealer will offer half the market trade in on your own car, yet they list cars well over market price and give it the full on sales talk when dealing with them, like saying only one previous owner instead of saying the car has had 2 owners tricks like that, buyer beware, do your homework first and don't be bullied by them.

Drove 120 miles to view a car that looked impeccable in the photos and was priced accordingly. When I saw it in person it had scuff marks all along the offside panels. They offered to fix it up but every panel had rough feeling paint, clearly from a bad overspray. Also 3 wheel close up pictures were used on Auto Trader - on closer examination it's the same good wheel used 3 times! The other 3 had kerb damage. I asked if the car was part exchanged but was told it was bought at auction. Probably an unrecorded accident damaged/repaired. The same company also trade as "Stirling Cars" (same address) - totally dodgy.

Bought a very good example of a 2016 Mini Clubman Estate Diesel Mini One. Bodywork excellent. Very decent car for the money, not cheap. I noticed a noisy Starting knock/ rumbling . We Diagnosed the car 22 faults appeared because I am told the battery was out of the car which then created all the faults, Found that we had to put 1.7 Litres of oil into the engine. Thank God no real damage done. Not even a reserve tank of Diesel in the tank and we were picking up from the Service station so an arm an a leg to buy diesel to get home. No floor mats. My point is if you look at the reviews, these guys do a great job but to overlook the diagnostics after removing the battery and not giving me at least a quarter of tank of diesel and floor mats and not checking the oil before sending it out to me is very poor. In hindsight I should have checked the oil before setting off when I picked it up. But surely AJ this is your job before you deliver. AJ did reimburse the costs of the diagnostics promptly for which I thank them, but no floor mats really did hurt me a little. They are missing the small details of buying a car with a good taste in your mouth. What's happened with duty of care? A halfpenny of tar. Still I got a decent car in the end.

Been 2 years since we bought a Nissan Cube from AJ, coming back now to leave a review after discovering upon attempting to sell the car that it was a category c write off. This had never been disclosed to us, which is illegal if you're a registered car dealer. Admittedly, we should have done our homework and conducted our own checks. We really wanted a cube and considering the next available one was a 400 mile drive, we weren't as diligent as we should have been and made biased decisions. When we pointed out that the car was sometimes not shifting into reverse properly, we were convinced by Zach that it was fine and must be because we weren't used to the car etc. "We bought this car for a runaround ourselves and its been great, not noticed anything etc etc" A year later, the gear selection box went and cost us around 1000 to replace. We were also told, the car looked to have been in a major accident as there was evidence underneath. So we've been driving around with our baby for a year now, unknowingly in a car that had been in a major accident and could have potentially more issues as a result. I'm disappointed that we were lied to, that we didn't run a check ourselves and that we lost about 75% of the value of the car upon selling. Do your checks before dealing with this garage.

From the first phone call to the purchase of the vehicle I cannot fault AJ Trade Cars. Really helpful and accommodating on the phone and extremely kind when we visited the showroom/warehouse! The guys moved cars out of the way so we could test drive the car we were looking at. AJ Trade cars were also so kind to hold the vehicle in the warehouse for us whilst we sorted our old car out. We felt that this company really looked after their cars and would do business with them again.
