I’d been on the NHS waiting list for over 12 months (Autism) and wasn’t prepared to wait a further 24 based on their own predictions. The booking process was easy, with no long waits. Communication beforehand was good and the pre-meeting preparation straight forward. Dr Horsford was very friendly and although I found the tests quite stressful, it was all necessary to highlight the areas I struggled with most. Overall, it was a generally positive and insightful experience. I would highly recommend this service.

From my experience; it appears this company could be running a money scheme, scam or con... They come across legit at first with an initial phone call then they bombard you frequently with emails of info already on their website and links to their website and booking forms. When you call them to ask a question that's not on their website all you get are these repetitive emails in response full of info from their website. I had one call back, apparently from a DR within 7mins of my initial enquiry phone call to them, which was very unexpected and I wasn't prepared for it so, I missed asking that Dr something very relevant. How do I get the person's personal info to them?; being as an assessment would be done by a Zoom call and they need personal info like medical records before the assessment can be done. So I called them a couple of times to find out exactly how I get the person's personal info to the Dr, i.e. Via post? Via email? Which Dr? The exact address?; each time a message was taken and I was told someone will call me back with a response. All I got in response was unnecessary repetitive emails of info on their website and links to their website along with assessment booking forms that I had previously received from them. I finally called for a 3rd and final time, when I received another email in response, still not answering my enquiry. But, instead stating that they don't provide ongoing free correspondence via phone and email due to client demand. Which is really frustrating being as besides the email of their costs, where I was quoted £475 to £775 for an assessment. None of the other emails they sent me were necessary nor requested by me; as the info in them are already on their website. Smh! So, now they expect me to pay for them to correspond with me to eventually answer my one enquiry that's not answered on their website after I book an assessment with them. It just doesn't make sense to me. I've worked in Health and Social Care for 16yrs and I've never come across a professional service that behaves this way towards potential patients or customers. I don't understand why it's been so hard for them to have just answered my one single enquiry after my first call to them about it. Then they would have just sent the one email with the answer from that one enquiry; and they wouldn't have continued to waste time sending me ongoing correspondence that I didn't ask for, which led to me wasting time by having to keep on contacting them for the answer that's not on their website. So it's very obvious to me that something dodgy is going on with this company. I don't recommend this company; I advice people save some money and go with a company who are capable and will answer relevant necessary questions to allow for an assessment to be done by them, free of charge before you book an assessment. Unless, you don't mind being ripped off by this company by paying upfront straight away for an assessment and for your relevant enquiries that aren't on their website to be answered; or you don't mind being left hanging without your necessary questions being answered and booking an assessment with them without them answering your important queries first.

The service and communication with Advanced Assessments was outstanding from start to finish. Dr Horsford was kind, patient, extremely thorougher and knowledgeable. The price was competitive. I was concerned that a face-to-face would be better but an online appointment in the comfort of our own home was actually better and less anxiety inducing. I have no regrets about booking with Advanced Assessments or referring to others in future.

Whilst the report itself is pretty comprehensive, the customer service was really poor. There was a lot of paperwork to complete and whilst fair enough to give background, it was so confusing. I was told to write it as a 3rd person and was given some instructions that it must be written professionally. To be honest, it felt i was writing it for them, which felt odd. After I tried to contact them to see if they had received all the documents that I was to complete, I was told that they don’t do free pre and after care service! I only wanted to know if they’d got everything. They said they’d not received my emails (but they’d received the ones with the documents on - odd). After waiting for the final report, I tried to call but no one was answering. I had to email, even though I was told they don’t do correspondence in that way (but i had to send the info they needed that way?? Odd). They told me that the final report had been sent weeks ago along with a text to say it was complete. I couldn’t find any text from them and assured them I had no email from them either and it wasn’t in my junk folder. I asked if she could send it again and also copy in my husband to be sure. They said they could not email it to my husband and coudl only send to the person who registered and if I’d not received it, to take it up with my email provider!! I thought that was so rude. I was gobsmacked. She then said, if I wanted a paper copy, i’d have to pay another £50! She said she would however, try sending it JUST one more time! I felt as though I’d been scammed to be quite frank and that it was all a con. I was in tears at this point as we’d been waiting 6-7 weeks and my daughter desperately needed the report in order to get help at school and for me to also refer her to the doctors for medication. I was so close to creating a dispute on paypal when I found “the text”. It WASN’T from Advanced Assessments but a random company called ‘Experts’ and it said “Your assessment report has been sent by secure email. If you have any difficulties opening, please contact the Egress Switch Helpdesk’. Why would i think that text was associated? I decided to contact Egress and a really lovely lady said she would help me. She checked the email address and my phone number and sent it straight away to me AND my husband! Not sure who on earth Advanced Assessments have working in their admin but That’s all they had to do in the first place without all the blunt, unhelpful responses. I read a previous Google review where someone thought it was all a con. I honestly felt that too. I was quite surprised when i did receive the report. Not a great experience at all.

We have used Dr Bernard Horsford for an ADHD and dyslexia diagnosis last year and more recently an ASD diagnosis for our 9 year old and each time he's been able to arrange for a convenient weekend via zoom within a few weeks which, after deciding to go private after waiting 2 years on the NHS was such a relief and has really helped with much needed support in school. There is a lot of information you need to provide via forms but this really helped him have all the background before and we all found the time on zoom comfortable and helpful with the report arriving 4 weeks later. Would definitely recommend

Really pleased with how quickly I managed to get an ASD assessment for my daughter when I know the waiting list on the NHS is so long. Although it meant paying privately I don’t feel we could have continued as things were for around two years on an NHS waiting list, we needed help now. This report has helped us to get the support we needed in school. My daughter found Dr Horsford very good especially as she was extremely anxious. At the end of the assessment she says it was good, she didn’t feel uncomfortable and gave a rating of 5/5.
