So where shall I start, I have been using Acu:East for about a year now. My first Acupuncture treatment was for a sharp pain between my shoulder blades which I have had on and off for a number of years. It usually comes on when I work my shoulders too hard at the gym and I've not been able to do pull ups for a long time. After my initial assessment Charlie explained what she would like to do and answered any questions I had regarding the treatment. She even went the extra mile when I asked about the history of Acupuncture and even sent me some interesting links after my first treatment. She was really relaxed and said when each needle would go in and why it was going in a particular area. I had a knot in the area I was getting pain and Charlie suggested "Guasha" which is basically a hard pressing on the knot with a solid object with oil, it bring the blood to the area which helps to heal it. Charlie explained that the area would be red for a number of days before she did anything and was very concerned in her approach, she wanted to make sure I understood and didn't worry in the days that followed. She said I could get in touch if I needed to. At the end of the first session she balanced my Chi and I felt like a million dollars when I left. I had been told to relax for a few days and wait for the results, after 3 days I was back training and felt good, I was able to do light weights on Shoulders and within 10 days I was pain free. I'm not doing pull ups as well so its a full recovery. Previously I have had laser treatment and massages to relax the area and none of them were effective so I'm really happy with this treatment. I've since been back to Acu:East for a minor back issue for which I had Acupuncture and after a few sessions the issue has been resolved, again the treatment was nice and relaxing and my Chi was balanced. I highly recommend Acu:East, Charlie really knows what she is doing, is kind and approachable. I am now attending regularly because I think its important we invest in our bodies and Acupuncture is not just for injuries, its a great tool for balancing the energy in you body and relaxing.
