FAQ

What is your experience and training in craniosacral therapy?

At Active Health, our practitioners have undergone extensive training in craniosacral therapy and have years of experience in the field. We are dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest research and techniques to provide the best possible care to our patients.

How does craniosacral therapy differ from other types of manual therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy that focuses on the natural movements of the body's fluids and tissues. Unlike other types of manual therapy, craniosacral therapy does not involve forceful manipulation or stretching of the muscles and joints. Instead, it aims to support the body's natural healing processes by addressing imbalances in the craniosacral system.

Can craniosacral therapy be helpful for my specific condition or symptoms?

Craniosacral therapy has been shown to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, headaches, anxiety, and digestive disorders, among others. However, every patient is unique, and the effectiveness of craniosacral therapy will depend on a variety of factors. We recommend scheduling a consultation with one of our practitioners to determine if craniosacral therapy is right for you.

How many sessions will I need and what can I expect during a typical session?

The number of craniosacral therapy sessions required will depend on the individual and their specific needs. During a typical session, the patient will lie down fully clothed while the practitioner uses light touch to evaluate the craniosacral system and identify any areas of restriction or imbalance. The practitioner will then use gentle techniques to release these areas and restore balance to the system. Sessions typically last between 45 and 60 minutes.

What is your approach to integrating craniosacral therapy with other treatments or therapies I may be receiving?

At Active Health, we believe in a holistic approach to healthcare that combines multiple treatment modalities to address the whole person, rather than just their symptoms. If you are receiving other treatments or therapies, we will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that integrates craniosacral therapy with your other treatments in a safe and effective way. Our goal is to provide comprehensive care that supports your overall health and wellbeing.

Was recommended by a friend for a massage here. Booked in for the Hot Stone with Catriona - I felt incredible for days after. Catriona is a dream and I had the most relaxing hour I have had in a long time! Thank you - will be back asap!

I run and if I ever get an injury I always see Liesel for physio. She is very experienced, and always solves the issue I go with whether it's knee, ankle, hip. I can't recommend her enough. A great service, reasonably priced and to date 100% success rate for me and my issues.

Highly recommended. Had a bad calf strain for no apparent reason but a few sessions with Kaylan and it’s now good as gold, with lots of advice and exercises from her on avoiding a reoccurrence.

Sorted! I was treated here by Liesel who was thoroughly professional and clearly very experienced. I had long standing neck and shoulder pain and had let it go on far too long so had seized up. 6 sessions later at a very fair price I am discharged and very nearly pain free with much better mobility. I was given a selection of easy stretching exercises and suffering treatments including 'dry needles' I thoroughly recommend.

Was in pain, now I'm not! I can honestly say that I have never had a remedial massage quite like it. Feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
