I believe they mutilated one of our dogs by totally removing both ear canals to stop repeated ear infections. Their most senior vet claimed to be a specialist in TECA surgery. Said our dog would still have some hearing left. Once the vet had satisfied her ego and charged the fee she didn't even see the dog herself for his post op check up. Farmed that out to one of her minions. 2 years on, we have a totally deaf, depressed dog who still gets ear infections. He's withdrawn into his own silent world and his standard of life has plummeted. The only difference is that the infections are more difficult to treat because there is no ear canal to access them through. He has fits now too - which I think may well be caused by the pressure of the abscesses on his brain. It's also becoming apparent that the likely cause was/is related to diet and allergies. Something that Acorn glibly dismissed at an early stage. Probably a less profitable treatment option. Hopefully dietary changes will help him now. If not, the options probably aren't good. Animal welfare should be priority 1, 2 and 3. Not profit and professional ego first. Acorn seem to me to have a higher proportion of young, less expensive vets yet charge some of the highest fees in the area. That, in itself, should ring alarm bells. All just my own personal opinion of course.

My cat was attacked by another moggy and had declined in health overnight. We are fairly new to the area so had not chosen a vets, but needed to see someone today. I can’t thank Acorn enough! They were so helpful, registering was straight forward and we got an appt at 11.30am today. The surgery has a separate cat space so they don’t have to look at the doggos and the waiting room is a great size. We saw Rebecca who was amazing - so empathetic and really showed care for our cat who was down in the dumps - for us this is so important as they are like one of the family! Hopefully our cat is now on the mend but we are super happy we have found this surgery.

We found a stray cat down the river on Sunday that was very poorly and suffering, i rang multiple vets and acorns was the only one who said bring the cat in straight away. The team were fantastic, caring and considerate. I could not recommend this vet enough. Thank you for your compassion

Phoned as a pensioner of Very limited means, asking them to euthanase my sick elderly dog, who is registered with them, with payment deferred until my next pension payment. Practice manager refused. Payment is 'in advance' only. Caring vets? Make up your own mind.

We sadly had to say 'good bye' to our 18 year old Frankie last month. We have always used Acorn throughout his whole lifetime. He had many visits to the hospital, either through accidents or as an impatient for numerous illnesses. Our grateful thanks to Rosie and all her colleagues for the excellent care and dedication they showed to us.

Good vets, often available, friendly and helpful. Helped me with my previous dog a lot when she was battling brain tumor, which extended her life to additional 6 happy months and provided support when it was the time to say goodbye to her. Still taking my cats there. Definitely trustworthy.
