FAQ

What is the ratio of children to caregivers in your playgroups?

At Acorn Community Preschool, we maintain a low child-to-caregiver ratio to ensure that each child receives individualized attention and care. Our ratio is typically one caregiver for every six children in the playgroup.

What is the age range of the children in your playgroups?

Our playgroups are designed for children aged two to four years old. We group children of similar ages together to ensure that activities and learning opportunities are developmentally appropriate.

What safety measures do you have in place to ensure the well-being of the children?

We take the safety and well-being of the children in our care very seriously. Our staff is trained in first aid and CPR, and we have procedures in place for emergency situations. We also conduct regular safety checks of our facilities and equipment to ensure that everything is in good working order.

What is the daily schedule and routine for the children in the playgroups?

Our playgroups have a structured daily schedule and routine that includes a balance of playtime, learning activities, and rest time. We have a variety of activities planned each day, such as story time, music and movement, art projects, and outdoor play.

Are there any educational components included in the playgroups curriculum?

Yes, our playgroups have an educational curriculum that is designed to support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. We use a play-based approach to learning, which means that children learn through hands-on experiences and exploration. Our curriculum includes activities that promote early literacy, numeracy, and scientific thinking.

This pre school is all about money !! They have no humanity or interest in the welfare of their children in the preschool. A friend of mine had to withdraw her child due to fleeing domestic violence, now in a place of safety and in the child's best interest enrolled the child in a new preschool. This preschool wouldn't release my friend from the four weeks notice she was unable to give due to unforseen circumstances and now the child can't start the new preschool because Lockerley refuses to transfer the funding over until the four weeks notice ends !! Stone hearted 😬
