DON’T BE FOOLED! From the outside it looks like an amazing university, but from my experience it couldn’t have been further from that. I had various mental breakdowns and was so incredibly disappointed and mad at the lack of support given during covid. NOT WORTH THE MONEY, aside from a few teachers who I will always be thankful for, I wouldn’t recommend this university to anyone!

Go anywhere else but ACM… Here is my 2 year experience shortened down to fit. I was contemplating BIM or ACM and chose ACM because of what their facilities looked like. My audition lasted 5 minutes which should have been the first indication that they were letting anyone in to fill student numbers instead of those who showed the potential to grow in the industry, was told that i would be attending 70% of lectures on Campus and 30% online, which led me to renting a house on the outskirts of the town centre. I didn’t receive my timetable until the day before my first lesson which wasn’t exactly helpful. My lessons were in fact being about 80% online and 20% on campus so the point of me renting was now pointless. We was on campus for 4 weeks before lessons were stopped due to winter covid. In those 4 weeks i had been ignored 4 times on separate emails by the Course Leader and Deputy Course leader even after my lecturer reaching out to them separately who they even ignored. Once the government had deemed it safe for Studies to return on Campus the uni chose against it resulting in our entire first year being solely online despite the ability to teach on campus, seems they just didn’t want too and wanted to just take our money and we was also unable to book any facilities for the first year, good that ay? ignored on multiple occasions asking for feedback on work, along with all my class mates, being told from a certain lecturer ‘I just follow where the money is’. Had a friend reach out to student support as they were struggling mentally who was only met with an automated email saying someone will reply in 14 days and never even contacted them, great support that lads. Took around 2 months to receive your assignment feedback and grades which is stupidly long. I learned more in my first year from other establishments youtube and my house mate than from ‘industry professionals’ who were teaching. They failed me on an assignment stating ‘your logic was illogical’ when the irony is i was quoting the lecturer of that module in the assignment using his logic, nice one mate👍🏻. The RAP and MC course also went through 4 course leaders that year, shambolic that. The second year was 70% on campus and 30% online despite filling out a survey asking if i wanted to only learn on campus, What was the point in asking then. We were able to use facilities however the lessons were poorly planned that you couldn't actually use or learn the facilities as they would stick 20 of you in a small mixing room and not allow you to actually use the equipment as only 2nd year producers were allowed but expected you to know how to use said equipment, and yet my logic was illogical. My dissertation lecturer quit after 4 weeks which led me to writing a dissertation without any guidance and once handed in was marked down due to a comment stating ‘you mention to view graph on page 52 but its not there’ i double checked what i handed in and lord behold the graphs were on page 52!! Another class moment from the lecturers. At the dissertation time my mum was diagnosed with cancer and i asked for a one week extension, compared to the usual 6 people asked for in order to take my mum to appointments etc. According to the board this wasn't a good enough reason… so what is? They wanted photo’s of my mums hospital appointments which they have no right to do and is completely confidential. My exit specialism i had a one to one meeting scheduled with the head of the business course, i sat in a zoom call for 20 minutes he never showed up and then ignored my email asking where he was, yet my lecturers said that it was my fault he didnt turn up? Thats logics logical. The OWNER of ACM asked a friend of mine to write a review and set up a meeting to talk to him about his experience and DIDNT SHOW UP, leading by example 👏🏻 Had so much more go on but cant write it all to word allowance here. If you want a music education DONT go here and go to Point Blank Music or Royal Academy of Music, all ACM do is waste a few years of your life and leave you in pointless Debt.

I do not recommend acm to anyone, they have messed my whole year up and has severely damaged my mental health and my career, after wanting to get into acm, they promised me a place on the course and lied. They decided not to take my application seriously And rejected it before the cut off date because I have an EHCP. i thought college was about giving people opportunities but yet they ruined all of mine to finish my last year of level 3. They have kept me waiting for over a month thinking I’m gonna be on the course to then give up on me and making me feel absolutely worthless!!!!!!!

Absolutely shocking please to send young people with multiple disabilities and an EHCP. They will try and discredit evidence and drop the ball, blame you and they don't really encourage students to perform etc. It's quite alarming to be honest and the staff turn over is quite something else. If the college wasn't on our doorstep our choice may well have been different. Don't expect senior management to take note of your persons paperwork unless it suits them.

I changed my mind, isn't a good place for study. The best place is Royal academy of music in London. Over here you study by yourself and tutors only gives you guide line but no help. This is not what I expected from a institution like this. Needs more engagement with students and explicit practices. If you want to choose a musical school think twice where you investe the money. Ain't worthy.
