FAQ

What qualifications do you require for individuals to be admitted to your homeless shelter?

We do not have specific qualifications for individuals to be admitted to our homeless shelter. However, we do require a brief intake process to assess each person's needs and ensure that our shelter is a safe and appropriate place for them to stay.

How long can individuals stay at your homeless shelter?

We do not have a set time limit for how long individuals can stay at our homeless shelter. However, we do encourage residents to actively work towards finding stable housing and provide support services to assist them in this process.

What types of support services do you offer to individuals staying at your homeless shelter?

We offer a range of support services to individuals staying at our homeless shelter, including case management, job training and placement services, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and assistance with accessing public benefits and resources.

How do you ensure the safety and security of individuals staying at your homeless shelter?

We take the safety and security of individuals staying at our homeless shelter very seriously. We have staff on site 24/7 to monitor the facility and ensure that all residents are following our rules and policies. We also have security measures in place, such as video surveillance and secure entrances, to prevent unauthorized access to the shelter.

What is your policy on accepting donations and volunteer services?

We greatly appreciate all donations and volunteer services that are offered to our homeless shelter. We accept donations of non-perishable food, clothing, toiletries, and other items that our residents may need. We also welcome volunteers to assist with meal preparation, facility maintenance, and other tasks. However, we do require that all volunteers undergo a background check and complete a brief training session before working with our residents.

Spoke to the rudest man I’ve ever encountered on the Accommodation concern number this morning. I made him aware that I just needed to be pointed in the direction of a solicitor. This man would not just do this he wanted to know deeper details. I told him how I feel suicidal due to the treatment I have received for 3+ years he completely undermined the situation and made me feel so pathetic. I have never been so embarrassed in my entire life. I made a second call to protect myself and request the first phone call. I was then made aware NO calls are recorded. When I asked for a copy to protect myself. I then made a third call then placed the phone on the sofa. In this call I was informed by the same rude male who turned out to be their manager, that their calls are in fact ALL recorded.

Need help with accommodation, with social security forms, with debt management and more besides? These folk are legendary and the only Kettering based charity to specifically help in these areas. I and my Assistance Dog don't sleep in a tent because of them! (Section 21 no fault evictions are morally wrong!)
