The St. Cuthbert Way with Absolute Escapes was among our most amazing long distance treks. In spite of a couple storms coming through during our late September/Oct departure, our group of determined mid-70"s hikers were able to complete most of each day without ponchos.

This was a very good company to work with when organizing our hike of the West Highland Way in Oct 2022. Their website was thorough and easy to navigate and had lots of helpful information when it came to deciding on the number of days in which to hike the 96 miles. The difficulty ratings according to the number of days hiked were accurate. The staff were super helpful and answered all my questions concerning my decision to book 2 nights at a hotel not on the WHW route. Since it wasn't part of the route, I had to book the room but it was no problem. They gave me contact information for taxi services in the area. Although I'd researched the public transportation, my husband and I decided to use one of the taxi services in order to save time and the trains were unpredictable because of the strikes. The staff were very accommodating and helpful at every step of the planning stage. Communication was prompt and always supportive and friendly. They were a pleasure to work with and we're looking at some of other walking and driving holidays offered by Absolute Escapes.

Absolute Escapes is absolutely a wonderful travel company - we have been clients for 2 self drive trips to Scotland ( the first trip was the North Coast 500) and this last trip was wonderfully organized and planned by their experts - we saw the Whisky Trail, Glencoe, Oban, the ferry to the Isle of Barra, north through the Hebrides to Stornoway, the ferry back to the mainland to Ullapool, the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, Inverness and Glasgow and so much more in between. We had 2 nights in each stop for a grand total of 25 days. All we had to do was follow the detailed itinerary. We would not hesitate to recommend Absolute Escapes to anyone who would like to see the wonderful country of Scotland. The Guest Houses were all super - I cannot choose a favourite as they were all very comfortable and welcoming. I will say that Thomas at Rossmore House in Grantown-on-Spey is an amazing chef!
