ABC have built 3 boats for myself, and their service is second to none. Any extras I asked for, I got without a fuss. Anne is excellent to deal with, and kept me updated right through the build, with regular photos etc. Very fair on cost, and excellent build quality. I will definitely use ABC again.

having been brought up with boats on the Fenland Ouse, and blessed with terminally itchy (wet?) feet, I decided to get myself the narrowboat I could never have afforded when I was in my 20s. Then there was the question of finding one that suited my needs. I wanted more of a 'narrow boat ' that is,a craft that could cruise anywhere on England's waterways network. So, a cruiser-style boat that was not too long and with a cabin big enough for me to fit out to my specific design. A visit to the nationally famous Crick boat show in soon taught me that many builders were not prepared to construct a boat at the size and style I wanted. Plenty of shiny boats and slick salesman, but no one it seemed, Flexible and down-to-earth enough to take on the job. Then I happened upon the modest stand of ABC boats. This was more like it, a realistic approach and plenty of enthusiasm to build me the craft I wanted. I arranged to visit ABC at its base near Boston, where I discovered that I could have pretty much, the length and style I desired. The team at ABC provided plenty of good advice as to what was both possible and sensible. A quotation was provided and a build slot confirmed. Thoughout the build process Anne at ABC gave me all the information I needed, plus a series of photographs showing the building of the shell and the fitting of the engine and stern gear, pretty much as it happened. The quality of the work proved to be excellent, the price very good and the build schedule was stuck to. I now have my Sailaway, spot-on and ready for me to spend many happy, I hope (!), hours fitting her out. Highly skilled, friendly, flexible and down-to-earth with no slick marketing babble: If that's your idea of an ideal boatbuilder, ABC could be right up your street, or should that be cruising along your kind of cut!
