A-list helped me hugely with my SAT. Charlotte McKenchie was a great teacher and I really recommend getting her. Before I had any lessons I scored 1190 in my SAT and after having 15 lessons I got 1550 in my SAT. When applying to university I wasn’t sure if I was good enough for the top D1 schools but because of that SAT score it has opened so many new doors to go through. Without her I wouldn’t be able to follow my dream and study at the best university possible to become the best me. Thank you Charlotte for everything! Hope you the best in the near future!

I made the decision to apply to a couple US schools 6 weeks prior to the admissions deadline and I couldn't have done it without A List! I was matched with my lovely advisor, Rhianna, who graduated from one of the universities I was applying to and who I shared common interests with. I found having a young advisor very helpful as I felt she could relate to me more and it seemed less formal making it all more enjoyable. The whole admissions process was so much smoother than I imagined as I had immense support from Rhianna who helped me with my common app, personal essay and supplementals and knew exactly what to include in them. She also went out of her way to ensure that I was prepared for my interview by asking me real questions that she used when she was an interviewer, which gave me insight into what they were looking for in an applicant. Even after my application was sent off, I'm still contacting Rhianna with questions and she checks in to make sure that everything is going well. What I love about my whole experience with A List is that I formed such a genuine bond with my advisor which I wouldn't have found anywhere else!

It is no doubt that A-list has highly qualified, knowledgeable tutors and counsellors. It is also no doubt that tutoring at A-list is a lucrative job, with rates up to 300 per hour. However, my main concern with the admissions advising at a-list is that often advisors don't maximise the fullness of the potential of their students. You'll be advised to apply to a number of schools that are easily within your reach but you won't be advised to apply to many top choices, limiting your chances to be admitted to a truly top school and not stretching you as much as you should be. I found it disappointing. College advising services like this are geared towards schools that might be really difficult to get into, but I don't see the value of charging so much to get into average schools, which would likely accept a good student with or without advising... my advice to a-list: believe in your students more ! Help make big dreams come true, not just the small ones

We were highly impressed with the support provided by "A' list for our son. Their level of knowledge, experience and advice are all top quality and they were invaluable in helping him navigate the entire process. We dealt mainly with Charlotte (Houghteling) and Murphy, both of whom went above and beyond in terms of support and advice, especially when we ran into a couple of hurdles. It says everything about them that they were there for us when we needed them most. We would thoroughly recommend both them and 'A' list!

I had a very positive experience at A-list while be guided through the US uni application process. Murphy (my advisor) was extremely well organised and so I was always able to keep on top of everything throughout the process. The sessions I had with him were calm and enjoyable while still being very productive. Nothing ever felt like it was being let to slide. The guidance I received from Murphy helped to provide the right conditions for me so that I could make decision I was happy with about where I wanted to apply and how I was going to do it well, whilst never feeling daunted by the process. I would do it again.
