Alistair - with great patience and determination - has really helped improve my understanding of the guitar and my ability to improvise over any chord in any key anywhere on the fretboard. This was a huge challenge for him which he rose to magnificently!! Well done and thank you Alistair!!

My son has been studying guitar (accoustic and electric) with Alistair for over 4yrs now. His teaching style is vibrant and encouraging with a genuinely knack for identifying strengths and strategies for sharpening weaknesses. Highly recommend to any level.

Ali is a great teacher in person or over Skype. I’ve learned a lot about how to play and music theory.

I’ve had lessons with Al for more than 10 years. He’s brilliant at walking calmly through things and for steadily increasing my knowledge. And teaches well on Skype if you can’t in person!

After several years playing and learning via books etc., I was stuck in a bit of a rut - I started having lessons with Alistair as I thought his approach was most likely to broaden out my style, increase my understanding or application of music theory, improve my technique, and introduce some fresh ideas or perspectives. 2 years down the line, I only stopped having lessons with Alistair as I moved to a different part of London, & he moved to France, which I think speaks for itself. I am very happy with the progress that I've made and would recommend him to anyone who's played for a few years and wishes to take things to another level.

After months of trying to teach myself and getting frustrated, 1-2-1 lessons with Alistair changed everything. The lessons were built around what I wanted to play but still included theory and technique. We have covered a wide range of music including Lightnin' Hopkins, Stone Roses, Hendrix and a bit of country on the way! I can really recommend Alistair.

I recommend lessons with Alistair. Learning through Skype is fine. In the lessons Alistair first makes sure the basics are sound and this is most important then you can work on the pieces that you want. As always practise makes perfect but with Alistair you can go along way. He loads of knowledge including such ingenious programmes like 'the Fretboard Warrior'!
