My husband and I are overall dissapointed with our stay. Our room as in the basement and looking outside the small window, we only saw car tires of cars parking right in front of the window. I was being asked a deposit of 50 pounds (unusual to me) which was withdrawn from my bank account. Now, 3 weeks later, I still dont have it back on my bank account, even after calling 2 times to the reception already. The breakfast was good, the rest quite unpersonal. We would have expected more, especially in that price range and a "5 star hotel". We would not return and would not recommend staying there.

Disappointing experience not in keeping with a ‘5 Star Hotel’. A string of minor issues, none of them irreparable in themselves, followed up by a larger issue I am very concerned by that needs to be rectified. We stayed at the 100 Queen’s gate Hotel for four nights. The first issue we had was the mechanism in the bath plug had broken meaning it was locked in place and couldn’t drain. After a 32 hour flight this was annoying as I had gotten into the shower before realising the problem. Spoke to reception who had maintenance come and ‘fix’ up the issue. They removed the plug and left it to the side but couldn’t repair the issue. A shame we couldn’t enjoy the bath but not the end of the world as we had the shower. Later in our stay the plug was replaced by room service leaving us with the same problem. In addition to this the iron in our room broke after using it once and the television in our room had an intrusive buzz. These are small problems but not ones you expect from a 5 star establishment as they dampened our experience. I raised the issues with reception who noted the problem (though did not seem surprised) and apologetically offered us a complimentary breakfast. This gesture was appreciated. We continued on with our holiday after checking out and paying our remaining balance for the room. Several days later we have noticed the funds set aside for our holiday are not where they should be. After spending a couple of anxious hours trying to determine what had happened and after spending a considerable amount of time looking back through our transactions over the last week to see if we had been scammed in any way, we realised we hadn’t. The Queen’s Gate Hotel has charged us a considerably large sum (Close to $700 AUD) not at all pertaining to our stay. I going to be calling them today to rectify this situation however, you book a 5 Star Hotel so you do not encounter these issues. If you are going to charge premium rates you need to deliver a premium experience. We did not receive this and we are incredibly disappointed as a result. I do not recommend this hotel. (The Hotel has since reversed the transaction. I still stand by my earlier statement)

A minor start was resolved quickly and professionally by the competent staff. Everyone from lower to higher rank does their utmost to make the stay a pleasant one, for which many thanks! The breakfast is exceptionally tasty and varied by British standards.
